Which Cruise to go?

My decision was made simple and easy because I choose to go from the nearby Galveston Port. Only Carnival and Royal Carribean sailed from the Port which is only 2 choices. Out of them, I preferred Carnival because of its familiarity, cheal deals and many good reviews about the famous cruises like Ecstasy and Fantasy. So I picked Ecstasy for 5 days. It might not be that simple for many of you. Let me share my view point which might help you a bit.

There are lot of cruise lines which sail from different ports all over US. Thats too many choices to select but it all can be made easy if you just narrow down your options like which port do you want to go, what style(family, honeymoon, kids special), places you want to see.

Choice #1 - Style Matters
As a first time cruiser, most of us want to have a great time and memorable experience. We should come back with loads of fond memories and might plan for next one in future. If you think that way, select a cruise which is sails from the port closer to you and matches your style.

If you have kids and they want to go on a Disney Cruise from Miami. That sound wonderful but if you have spend $300 for everyone of them to get there and spend another hefty amount to take a cruise. After spending all that, if you find out the cruising is not really what we wanted at the end of the cruise. Then its mere waste of money.

For First time cruise, try something which doesn't take a toll on your wallet and at the same time helps to find the fun of cruising.

Choice #2 - Places to See
I bet this might not be a real choice for first cruisers. I know First cruisers like me just want to go cruising for the fun of it and not for the places we want to se. Only veteran cruisers would opt for to check out on different cruises for the reason of their ports visited. This might not be a real preference but you don't want to go Alaska during peak winter but you can go Carribean at that time. Do keep in mind the places or port you go to fit the weather pattern so you can good time.

Choice #3 - Cheap deal Wins
If you don't really care for the style which is my type and just looking to have fun. Then I would say you can look for some good cheap deals which cruise lines offer most of time. Just pick out one of those unbeatable deals to suit your schedule and just enjoy what it has to offer.

Thats what I did. I picked out a good deal from Carnival and finalized the dates around it. I just enjoyed the cruise with shore excursions it has offered. Simple and Easy!! No brainstorming and no hassle!!
